Narmada Temple and Narmada Park

Narmada Park
Narmada Park situated in the village Lembuak, district Narmada, Lombok Regency West or about 10 kilometers east of Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. The Park is about 2 ha (hectares acres) was built in 1727 by the Kings of Mataram Lombok, Anak Agung Ngurah Karang Asem, as a place of Pakelem ceremony held every fifth full moon of the year Caka (October-November). Besides the ceremony, children Narmada is also used as a resting place of the Royal family at the time of the dry season.

The name of the Narmada is taken from Narmadanadi, the son of a very Holy River Ganges in India. For Hindus, the holy water is an element that gives life to all the creatures in this world. The water gushing from the ground (the springs) are associated with tirta amerta (the water of immortality) radiating from Kensi Sweta Kamandalu. First name Narmada used to name the name of the springs which form several ponds and a Creek in the venue. Normally used to refer to the temple complex and the entire Grounds Narmada.
The Narmada Park now is the result of development and a series of repairs/restoration which took place from time to time.
